Hello, I'm
Zach Jenkins
Software Engineer
Building software products, from early-stage startups to established teams. I focus on understanding the problem, then building the solution.
The Background
I got into software through quality engineering, working as a consultant embedded with teams at Cargill and Gracenote. Building test automation systems taught me how software fails, which gave me a strong foundation for building software that works.
Since then I've worked on B2B e-commerce platforms, AI-powered testing tools, web3 products, and agentic AI systems.
How I Work
Problems over technologies
The right tool depends on the job. I focus on understanding the problem first, then pick up whatever technology makes sense for the solution.
Shipping over perfecting
Working software you can learn from beats theoretical perfection. I prefer to ship, get feedback, and iterate rather than over-engineer upfront.
Comfortable with ambiguity
Early-stage products, complex integrations, unclear requirements—these are the projects I gravitate toward. Defining the path forward is part of the work.
